Earning

How can you earn by sharing projects you like?

Share a project you'd back yourself, with people who'd like it. If its creator offers a share reward, you get the rate they chose on every pledge your link brings in. Invite friends, and part of our fee on their pledges is yours. It's a thank you for helping, not income to plan on.

How does sharing a project pay you?

Every campaign can pay a share reward to whoever brings it a backer. The creator chooses the rate when they create the campaign, from nothing up to 18.5% of each pledge, and it can't change later. When someone backs through your link, the contract pays you that rate out of the pledge, in the same transaction.

In the app, open any campaign and copy its link. If it pays a share reward, the rate shows beside the button that copies your link.

How does inviting a friend pay you?

Your account has an invite code. When someone creates an account with it and backs projects, you get 0.75% of every pledge they make, which is 50% of our fee, for as long as they keep backing. Your code and link are on the Invite friends screen, under Friends in the app's menu.

Is there more for inviting?

Yes. People you invite also count toward referral milestones and a continuing share of the fees, each reviewed by a person before it's paid. The earn page lists every rate.

Why share a project at all?

Because the projects you like need people who don't know their creator yet. A share from you, with a line about why you care, can mean more to a small campaign than any ad.

Share what you'd back yourself, and say so when a share reward is involved. Your friends trust you, and that's worth more than any rate. So check a campaign before you share it, the way you would before backing it.

How much can you expect?

No one can tell you, us included. Every share reward is a rate on pledges other people choose to make, and many campaigns pay no share reward at all. It's not income you can plan on.

Sharing your own campaign pays you nothing, and neither does backing through your own link. The earnings simulator shows how the rates add up at ordinary figures, and it isn't a forecast.

Your next step

Think of one project you'd happily tell a friend about, and share it with a line about why. The earn page has every rate and how each one is paid.
