How do you deposit on CoFunders with 0% card fees?
Skip the card: buy USDC on an exchange, send it on the Solana network to your CoFunders address, and pay no fee to us and no card fee at all.
Short answer
Don't use a card. Open an account at an exchange, pay in euros by bank transfer, buy USDC there, and send it on the Solana network to your CoFunders address. We charge nothing on a direct transfer, and there's no card fee because no card is used. The exchange's own fees are usually small, and it shows them before you confirm.
Key facts
- No fee from us on a direct transfer, and no card fee.
- Send only USDC, and only on the Solana network.
- The exchange may charge a small trading fee and a withdrawal fee. It shows both before you confirm.
- It usually lands within a minute of the exchange sending it.
What do you need?
- An account at an exchange that lets you withdraw USDC on the Solana network. Most large exchanges do: check its list of networks for USDC before you sign up. It will check your identity, as every regulated exchange must.
- Your CoFunders account's address. In the app, open Portfolio, tap Add money and choose Direct transfer, or tap Copy address on your profile.
How do you deposit, step by step?
- On the exchange, add euros by bank transfer (SEPA). Many exchanges take bank transfers in euros for free, but check its fee page.
- Buy USDC with those euros. The exchange shows its trading fee before you confirm.
- In CoFunders, copy your address: Portfolio, Add money, Direct transfer.
- On the exchange, choose to withdraw or send USDC. Pick Solana as the network, paste your address, and enter the amount.
- The first time, send a small amount and check it arrives before you send the rest.
- It shows in your History as Money added, usually within a minute.
Only USDC, only on Solana
Send only USDC, and pick the Solana network when the exchange asks. USDC sent on another network, or any other coin, does not arrive in your balance and may be lost.
What does it cost?
| Cost | How much |
|---|---|
| Our fee | Nothing on a direct transfer |
| Card fee | None, because no card is used |
| The exchange's trading fee | Set by the exchange, usually a small share of the amount, shown before you buy |
| The exchange's withdrawal fee | Set by the exchange, sometimes nothing, shown before you send |
By card you pay the payment partner's fee and ours, 0.25% plus a flat $0.99. This route avoids both. How to add money by card or crypto covers the card route.
Why might the exchange ask about your wallet?
European rules ask exchanges to check who receives a transfer. When you send to a wallet you hold yourself, the exchange may ask you to confirm the wallet is yours, often above 1,000 euros. Your CoFunders address is your own wallet, so you can say yes.
When is the card better?
When you want the money in a few minutes without opening an exchange account, or for a single pledge. The exchange route takes longer the first time, because the exchange checks your identity, but every deposit after that costs you almost nothing.
